And why does all the most interesting things come to an end so quickly? Probably to open up new prospects and opportunities for us. The two-month educational initiative "Career Start. Youth Guarantee Programme" has recently finished, during which students majoring in Accounting and Taxation had an internship at CeDePe. The participants tried their hand at real accounting work, learned about modern software, gained their first work experience, and also made interesting acquaintances, professional contacts and a lot of useful information.

Team of Young Professionals

We invited 7 talented young accountants to join the internship to get them involved in the work from the inside. The business education project allowed them not only to immerse themselves in real accounting, but also to break down some stereotypes and prejudices. For example, Marko, one of the project participants, said on his first day of work that accounting was really hard and even a little scary. But during his internship, he worked hard and showed excellent results. So, it turned out that it wasn’t so scary if you understand it and make an effort. This was confirmed by other participants, including Yanina. The girl travelled to the project from Stryi every day, but it was worth it: Yanina has mastered the Master Accounting software perfectly and her speed and accuracy of data entry, responsible attitude to tasks, and strict adherence to deadlines impressed even accountants with years of experience.

«In fact, the best result of the project was the formation of such a mini-team, as well as the joint work for the result» – says Svitlana Lozova, project manager..

All the time, the participants were accompanied by mentors – CeDePe employees. As caring colleagues, they advised, guided and supported the students.

Summing up the results

During the internship the participants delved into practical accounting , understood various payroll systems and accounting rules, worked with documents, mastered the MASTER Accounting software product and much more. The practical skills , acquired during the training for accountants will certainly contribute to the professional growth of young professionals..

They also managed to expand their network of professional contacts, create new communities of professionals and gain unique experience. Some participants expressed a desire to become mentors and tutors for other , young accountants </strong, as it became clear that experience and knowledge are especially powerful when shared.

The project was aimed at helping novice accountants understand how work in the company is organised. They also saw what a real employer usually expects from a specialist.

«Young professionals are distinguished by their ability to learn quickly and a certain professional humility. An employee with experience cannot always step over it and start something from scratch, for example, working in a new service. Quickly picking up new things, helping others to master innovative solutions, attentiveness – all these are the advantages of beginners that we emphasised throughout the project,,» – says project manager Svitlana Lozova.

To be continued

«Career Start » – is definitely not the last professional initiative to support students with the participation of CeDePe. During the programme, the participants met with many experts, including Ivan Pykus, Head of the Department of Innovation, Distance Learning, Coordination of Higher Education and Science Institutions, and Vocational Education at the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration. This meeting highlighted the fact that partnerships between motivated students and interested employers are becoming more and more common. And this cooperation will only grow.

To be continued…. The next project has already been planned, so let’s get on with it.
